She became certified as an Amma Japanese massage therapist and a Lomi somatic therapist. She also developed and has lead a series of mother/daughter and women’s self-defense programs with an emphasis on safety.

She teaches Aikido at Two Rock Aikido dojo (Petaluma, California) where she continues to train for her own advancement in the art.  She lives in Sonoma County with her husband and home-schools her 14-year-old daughter. She has parented 3 stepchildren who are now adults and has an adorable 3 year old grandson.
